For those who might be even vaguely interested...

ADV Films has an all-Japanese-anime channel, 24/7, called the Anime Network.

If you want it and cable satellite don't give it, you can go to AN's website and have them send an email to your provider requesting that they pick up the channel.

It's all uncut, and it's only from ADV's library (obviously), but they have both a large and relatively impressive collection. It's also dubbed, but for the sake of getting animation on American television that isn't mostly aimed at the kiddies, you can put up with it, right?

He he. The Celebrity Death Pool. Apparently it's been going on for several years and gets more popular every year. I find it interesting that Pope John Paul II is the second most selected. I wonder how many years he's been on the list. The two people that chose Alan King were insightful.

ARGH. IT FEELS LIKE THE MUSIC IS FUCKING MY BRAIN.

Less than five minutes with that game, and I already have a splitting headache!

Seriously? Wow, I love the music. It's my favorite part of the game. The game's scary as fuck though - that's usually what makes me stop.

The worst part is that all of those awesome games are released right as I ship off to basic training. It's quite shitty.

Scary? Scary in its mindnumbing repetitiveness?

I got to 58% complete with 3 of those treasures, and I havn't been scared once. Wheres the scary, I want scary!

You, too, can write your own Penny Arcade.
It's only vaguely amusing. Consider this an invisible warning.
Best story of the day. Shame some mad fucker has lost sight of what was going on and wants to prosecute the poor guy.

The door burst open and the gaping maw of a northern Kodiak bear appeared inside his living room.

See, this is the part that the Animal Rights people don't understand. They call this Ryan guy a criminal, but Animal Control considers this to be "criminal" behavior in a bear. There are at least two or three news stories around here every year about some bear that had to be trapped or destroyed because it was raiding garbages or crashing into houses.

"This young man should be prosecuted, not praised. The bear was simply following his natural instincts, and had this Ryan criminal left it alone, no harm would have been done. It's disgusting, and he can expect to hear from our lawyers."

No, plenty of harm would have been done. Bears normally have a healthy fear of all things human, and try to keep out of our way as much as possible. Had he left the bear alone, however, it would have associated his house with food, and come back again whenever it was feeling hungry. Even worse, it probably would have made it that much easier for the bear to do the same thing to another house. See? Ryan is a goddamn hero!

There is no word on what became of the animal's body, but local animal rights activists are filing to take posession of the bear's remains, claiming it was an immoral act of killing, and Ryan should not be allowed to make a bearskin rug out of it.

I'm sorry, but if you can take a bear down with a damn frying pan, you deserve the rug. If you're stupid enough to hit a bear with a wooden spoon, and live to tell the tale, you deserve the damn rug.

Perhaps he's trying to tone his muscles, as opposed to trying to bulk up.
