SSC: I've never actually seen Mars Attacks. It just looked stupid, and I often make assessments based on superficial and initial attractors (or otherwise).

I got that blockbuster deal instead of netflix. 3 rolling rentals for 30 per month. Granted netflix is cheaper, but I can't visit netflix 3 times in one day to change out movies, as I sometimes do.

That and their automatic billing thingie hasn't charged me in two months...

Granted when they finally catch it, I'll either be dead, or look at the account one day, realize something's missing and just chalk it up to random impulse purchases.

It is a question of ethics! Well, not really.

I did the blockbuster trial, but I didn't continue because it took them like four days to send me the DVDs, and one time they did and it was cracked in half.

while we're at it, here's what I've watched from netflix so far

Kikujiro - mentioned on that other list!
I Heart Huckabees - i liked it, especially the second half
Manhattan - awesome
Grave of the Fireflies - ehhh
Stray Dog - pretty good kurosawa, mifune is unrecognizable without a beard
The Man Who Fell to Earth - worst movie ever
Videodrome - squish squish james woods is nuts
Election - mmm

Send?

I normally just go there, pick what I want, breeze through the line, drop off the stuff I'm bringing back, and leave.

You guys need to watch the DVD of "The Guns of Navarone". One of the best war films I've ever seen. Also in the extras, Anthony Quinn tells how he went through the script chronologicalically in order to make his shirt appear to go from faded red to dark red by the end of the movie. Quite funny when pointed out.

You'd be the best person to ask on here.
How long does it take to get a DVD from Netflix and how long until they get it back (once you mail it, of course)?

I've noticed netflix has that whole "friends" section to it now. does anyone wanna be netflix buddies?
In fairness, we've been building 'ground zeros' near Iraqi mosques since March 2003.

Not sure how it is in Texas (which is why you're asking Dynagrip, duh) but here it's 1 day for both. They say two, but that's with a wink and a nod.

It was 1 day in Colorado too, but I think I heard it said that they had a warehouse in Denver.

There's a distribution center in Houston I believe. I frequently get the next DVD the day after they receive whatever I sent.

We watched The Last Emperor on the weekend. Now I just need to see Million Dollar Baby and I'll have seen every Best Picture Oscar winner since Platoon in 1986!

We also saw The Royal Tenenbaums on TV. I mention it because it should have been on the list but I guess I never added it. It was quite entertaining!

I wonder if they cut anything from the Royal Tenenbaums? If so, I would definitely recommend finding a regular version somewhere, and thusly watch it.
