It is of a class of anime that I strongly dislike.

Just added Usagi Drop, My Ordinary Life, Humanity Has Declined, and Break Ups to my Crunchyroll queue. UD is the only one I'd heard of previously, all the others just looked interesting. So we shall see.

Usagi Drop is THE BEST. THE FUCKING BEST. It will make you cry like pow.

Ordinary Life is incredibly cracked out. It's like Azumanga on crack.

Humanity Has Declined is actually insane fun of a totally different sort. I think it peaks early but it's still a good show.

Break Ups I have not seen!

Kind of missing the point there.

The thing that baffles me about the Shinji-hate is that everyone loves Madoka.

Oh yeah, by a mile. But then, I don't think he was trying to make any point beyond being funny. And yeah, Shinji-hate is generally baffling.

I had friends over to see 1.11 and 2.22, and they were calling Shinji flaccid and imobile even as he was standing on NERV headquarters in his mech trying to stomp through to Central Dogma.

I don't know if people just don't know what mech anime is like or what.

It's the winter seasons, which is traditionally the good season. I saw almost nothing from Summer, and exactly nothing from fall. With my job taking up literally all of my life and maybe a little more, I'm just having a hard time caring about anything. Anime fell first, and now I'm playing a lot less games. I mostly just watch Louis now. I watch to the end of what's on Netflix, and then I start over.

Just have no room, temporally or psychically, for enthusiasm right now.

Which is kind of sad, really. If you take away what I'm enthusiastic about, I'm not really much but a guy with a job.

Hmm. I have that same problem with all forms of media from time to time. To the point where I consider should even needing to own computers, consoles or subscribe to any periodicals. It'll pass I think.
At least I hope so for your sake.

Crunchyroll's available on 360 over here now. What should I look at on the freebie offerings?

What do you like?

My favorites are Sweet Blue Flowers, Wandering Son, Gothic/Gosic, Time of Eve, Usagi Drop, Humanity is In Decline, Durarara, Madoka Magica (IF YOU SEE ONE SEE THIS), Bakemonogatari to the end of season 1 (season 2 is weirdly perverted), and anything Makoto Shinkai that they put up (I think they own the distribution rights piecemeal to 5cm Per Second?)

I adored Air back when. Haven't really seen much recently bar the occasional Ghibli feature.

If you liked Air, you will love Angel Beats:

I think all of those will play well to an Air lover. Move Durarara, Humanity is in Decline, and maybe Bakemonogatari down the list.

I keep watching GIRLS und PANZER even though it is awful from literally every single angle. I have no idea what's wrong with me.

So apparently they're showing Evangelion 1.1 on Adult Swim's Toonami block tonight. Already seen it obviously, but neat that they're doing so anyway.

What's this Kamiusagi Rope anime then? It's showed up in a bit of cross-media promotion in Zoo Keeper Vs and appears to be a ronin rabbit and guinea pig, kinda like Usagi Yojimbo back in the early '90s.

I hadn't even heard of it, but apparently several of the shorts are up on YouTube. May have to give those a watch.

I need to get back into watching stuff. Syarif is always busy these days, and so am I, so I'm not keeping up with the seasons.

I finished Girls Und Panzer and hated myself the whole way. That show is fucking godawful, I can't figure out why I watch it.

Still need to finish Shin Sekai Yori. Apparently the original manga is mildly pornographic, which is too bad, but I thought the verdant vastly-post-apocalyptic world was pretty interesting.

Syarif showed me a show and I have forgotten every aspect of it. I don't think it was really memorable.
