It was the last Winter Veil achievement I needed for the title. I couldn't do it while I was away. I now have an even 10 titles for Araj. I never got "of the Shattered Sun" because it was 1k gold for no gain, I never got the "Hallowed" title because I couldn't get a toothpick to drop. If that makes sense...

yeah I think I'm pretty done with raiding, nobody wants or needs a DPS DK, as hardcore as I am at it. I'll probably ride the Friday Night PUG wave if I can, though.

I have a horde priest almost to level 55 now. Having fun healing BRD and ST. Well, I was having fun in BRD until the Lyceum and the morons running the wrong way "BRING THE TORCH OVER HERE WHERE I'M PINGING" "NO! DON'T STOP TO FIGHT!" and of course me being the only one with any aoe (holy nova) they die to their stupidity.
Guys, my gear is broken, I'm going to go. BLARGHARGHARGH.

Good to not be raiding again though, that shit is frustrating.

I haven't raided since early Sunwell. Xella's still there.

As far as I can tell, raiding is dumb. All content was down months ago, trying to do the achievements like Sartharion with 3+ drakes up. I haven't seen the fight so I don't even know how hard that is.

Achievements are pretty fun because some are in fact legitimately hard, and those usually give unique rewards (albeit like...a mount or title). They should have had them when we were all together because we would have owned face.

Sartharion with 3 drakes is like tanking Onyxia in the whelps with no FR. As far as I can tell anyway.

while huge waves of fire come through that can oneshot anyone, including the tank

it was pretty funny watching the feeble-minded raiders try to process that sort of thing

has DS gotten 3 drakes?

Heroic achievements are genuinely fun and not only are they hard, they often offer an interesting alternative to a fight.

If the achievements linked to my 360 gamerscore I'd actually care about them. But they don't. So I don't.

achievements are dumb. unless they are connected to my tome of knowledge and unlock a cool title for me.
In fairness, we've been building 'ground zeros' near Iraqi mosques since March 2003.

it's not that I want to get all the achievements (although the red proto-drake is pretty sweet), it's that the game issued me a challenge and I want to surmount it. The CoT 5-man/UBRS gang did things because they were hard, like 4-manning heroics back in TBC.

For an example, killing a boss while leaving his 3 mini-bosses alive and in combat? That's pretty hardcore, especially considering that some PUGs can't even handle one miniboss.

Or burning down an end boss in less than 2 minutes, and some bosses in less than one minute, or not cleansing off some really nasty shit a boss puts out... there's all kinds of unique challenges the game puts out and I think it is a fantastic and fresh way of approaching end-game content. Make the regular content somewhat easy but the achievement content hard.

That makes me wonder, can you take down Gehennas with his support still alive?

Hey guys its Tet, my guild downed 10 man Malygos yesterday and I have to say that is probably one of the most fun fights I have ever done. Doing the 25 man version is going to be painful though as the third phase is a huge retard check.
