Xbox 360

Postby Eolh » Wed Dec 27, 2006 9:35 pm

I have some extra X-Mas cash and I'm thinking of picking up a 360 to complete the ridiculously named "Wii-60" setup in my home. The problem is, I'm just not seeing the games to justify the purchase, nothing is standing out except GoW. Anyone out there with a 360 that can convince me there are enough quality games out to justify the purchase?

I hear Fifa '07 is just a beautiful game. Might as well grab '06 too.

Seriously though, I'm going to be waiting a year at least to see how the game library comes along before I pick one up. Same for the PS3.
I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.

I'm having a blast with Rainbow 6 Vegas and Viva Pinata, and Dead Rising looks pretty good.

Gamertag?

Dead Rising's just excellent. PGR3's superb too. I second Viva Pinata and heartily endorse Gears. Get some Microsoft Points and download Geometry Wars & Mutant Storm too. And if you dig videogame gridiron, grab Madden while you're at it.

Dead Rising was the sole reason I was going to buy one.

Dude, Bioshock! It's not even out yet and I am pining for it. I also don't have a 360, but dammit, I'll have both when Bioshock comes out.

Condemned: Criminal Origins was fun.

I think both of those are either on or going to the PC, though.

I want to play Viva Piñata, as well.
Oh 360, come to me!

Do you play Rainbow 6 over the whole Live doohickey? If so, how is that?

i want to get one just for Dead Rising as well.

Also, call of duty 3 looks pretty rad

right now I want one of these more than a Wii, but the game I want the most is Dead Rising and I hear it's a pain to play on SD so I'm trying to hold off on the 360 until I get a HD tv

I don't know anything about Viva Pinata except the name, but wouldn't a game called Viva Pinata be better on the Wii?

Not if it's an in-house cash cow designed for the 360

I got it for christmas so I haven't really done much R6 online yet.

I'm not sure how much the motion sensor element would add to it, but I know Rare is owned by MS so I don't think it's gonna show up on the Wii. It is so goddamn fun and addictive I have to say.

Now, with the game, do you actually beat the crap out of the things or are you just breeding them for wackiness?

That's the only reason I'd want one at the moment.

Well it is possible to whack them but it is mostly breeding and whatnot. There are bad ones that you whack though. The candy is what the pinatas eat when they are predators and they break each other open.

Indeed it's great. So your gamertag would be? :)
