Wow, that whole scenario seemed bad until they decided to spike it into the ground like a lawn dart. It seems to me that it could be solved, almost completely, with instancing and capping the number of players per instance for RvR. Though then it wouldn't really be open.

In an overall sense, I must assume much of what's going on in my server is happening elsewhere.

I reside on the lowest pop server left, consitantly low/low density. and to think I was worried in those first few months about the login que getting up a 5 or 10 minutes during prme time. Interestingly enough the WHA forums have had alot of heated and quite vicious exhanges between our and the only other RP server left, pheonix throne. they don't want us being merged, and aren't at all above calling us some really nasty names. what the hell

There's an open zone in WoW that changes hands every few hours. To combat population imbalances between horde and alliance they increase the health and damage done by people on the smaller team. Works out pretty well.

It's even kinda fun being on the underdog side because you can take on small groups of opponents solo.

Fat chance they'll implement that though. I saw an interview with one of the lead designers at an exhibition before release and he was scathing about WoW and full of praise for WH.

So today my server will be allowed free transfers to two servers, all but making it official it will be shut down too. and one of those servers is the one trolling our servers trying to make sure we are not welcome there (although mostly order players as they are stacked order just as we are).

I just wanted to add a hilarious follow up to the move that took place. So Pheonix Throne ended up being the main server most of my old server went to, but because of so much pressure/hostility from forum trolls on PT telling our server's order to GTFO, when the merger came alot of those order players rolled destro on PT, many coming into my guild. Enough that now balance is skewed enough to have Altdorf on farm status. oh the QQing going on from the now outnumbered order on PT is so tasty to the ears.

Maybe they should have shut the hell up and they wouldn't be in this position.

I'm really not impressed. It seems like a WoW knockoff.

I got in on an RVR thing and wandered around for about an hour. I didn't see a single other player. I did some NPC quests, but what's the fucking point, really?

I just had this sad mental image of you running around yelling

That's pretty much what it was. I spent like 20 minutes literally doing nothing but running, hoping to find SOMEONE else. PVP-focused MMO with no players? Great idea!

it's a dead zone in the beginning tiers now. should have hopped on when they made the new classes. no the point of this game is rvr clicking the orange button on your mini map will que you for scenarios which is just about the only rvr you'll find until around T3

Ouch.

TOR won't fail right away but if they spent 300 million dollars making it then they'll never make that back.

Yeah that seems exagerated by bitterness, but then again it sounds exactly like the fail model AoC went through with their voiceover woes
