Yes, it is! I'm quick at answering things!

HA HA HA YES.

I want a diamond shotgun.

fantastic
In fairness, we've been building 'ground zeros' near Iraqi mosques since March 2003.

There's a damned zombie living in the central chamber of my Obsidian Tower of Despair that desperately needs some shotgunning.

Sounds like a perfect accompaniment for a tower of despair.

Or you could drop a bomb on it or something...

I wish I'd thought of that. In the end, I pushed him out the bottom and into the hellish lava column that supports it.

Making attempts to build a really nice luxury home with sandstone as the walls, which is a large pain in the ass. 256 blocks of sand just to get 64 blocks of sandstone...

I keep meaning to give Minecraft a go, but for whatever reason keep putting it off.

Is there a good primer around? And can you jump straight in for free to test the waters first? I don't fancy shelling out if this turns out to not be my thing.

These five blog posts from a guy detailing his first five days in game give a fairly good idea of the experience.

You can still try Minecraft Classic for free; it's not patched, and it's way different from the regular single and multiplayer game in that you just get a random assortment of unlimited blocks to play with, and no monsters spawn at night. Just look under the 'Buy now!' tab on http://www.minecraft.net

Here is a fun game: Every time that writer writes the word "most", shout the word "moist". My coworkers are looking at me nervously.

A tour of my Minecraft home thus far.

Still a lot of work to do, but I think I've made some good progress there.

You know what I would love? If they re-did the art/lighting in minecraft so it looked like something like 3D Dot Game Heroes. That would get me on board right away.

Either that, or I'll just kill myself. Stick my stuff in a box and go jump off a cliff; that setup is maybe 100, 150 'yards' away from my spawn point.

Is that sandstone? So cool! I love the tree-lined garden path, too.

Lovely.
However, if that bamboo stuff is anything like actual bamboo, you're going to sign back in to find your house surrounded in a bamboo jungle.
Although, if that was anything like real life, your cabinets would be on fire constantly, what with those torches placed neatly underneath them.
That seems like it would take a lot of time.. and patience. I have one, but not the other. Although, I used to make levels for HL and Sven-Coop, so I probably do have both.

Doggie, there are no achievements involved, so you're not allowed to take up Minecraft. It's in the contract you signed.

I also have one and not the other; I think we have opposed skills! We should cut ourselves in half, and assemble into one happy, actualized indvidual, and one that immediately kills itself.

Nope. It only grows on squares directly adjacent to water.

Heh, yes. I'm going to have those placed better eventually, for right now I just kind of tossed a bunch up to keep monsters from spawning inside my house...

For shame! It's true, J. Allard owns my gaming soul.
Though all I'm playing these days is XBLA games, Advanced Shanking Simulator: Brotherhood lies dormant in the disc tray. I blame iThing games for my reduced attention span.

Got Raskulls yesterday, it's fun. A platformer with shades of Mr Driller.
