New Users and Spam Users

Postby Rob » Fri Apr 08, 2005 8:47 am

We are getting lots of new user registrations! (Hurrah!)

They're from spambots! (Boo!)

So we're going to do something about it! (Hurrah!)

We're going to start nuking users who register and never post! (Silence!)

So consider this an open request to out-the-lurkers! (Confusion!)

Anyone with an account more than a couple of weeks old, who has never posted, will be culled. Just in case that account gets used in the future for something bad.

To any genuine lurkers who have accounts and wish to keep them (maybe you log in and use the orange-doo-dahs to show you what you ain't seen yet), then my advice is simple - post a single message. Anywhere, really, but here is as good a place as any. If you've posted a single message somewhere in the messages, I promise the account won't get culled.
