Lethe's music

Postby Lethe » Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:39 am

So this thread will house my music workz that I want to share with y'all.

It's not really a band thread anymore because we're nothing closely resembling a band. As for not really being in the band anymore, we aren't. We don't really collaborate on anything and I only play the occasional track for him.

We basically only talk about hockey and it's kind of a weird deterioration of something two people had intensely in common. Is that inevitable in human relationships? Probably. (The CoT thread might attest to that, haha.)

Anyway, who cares about that anyway.

So this track is the last thing we recorded together. As you can tell is kind of different from the previous stuff. This is the direction he's gone:

Ryan Adams - Creature of Habit, from his graduation thesis-of-sorts Art From The North.

(Personally I think he just stopped wanting music associated with his creativity heard by people.)

This next one is a track from my graduation recital I just did for my jazz program. One of the courses in the final semester is to perform a 1-hour set of material you arranged with a band you assembled. Interesting assignment to teach you how to lead a group.

Dave Marshall "Quintet" - Israel (apple lossless encoder, .m4a)

You can see how different the directions we've gone are...I've gone about as far into the instrument as you can get in music -- jazz -- and he's gone into more of the meta-music thing being an engineer/producer.

VLC Media Player plays just about anything, including m4a. It's my bitch.

You can get it here.

iTunes?

And no, it's only about 7 minutes. It's lossless compression so the file size is way big. I was going to re-import it, but then I didn't.
