Ring of a Thousand

Postby Bag of Ass » Sat Oct 05, 2002 11:19 pm

We were once sated

Then

Uprooted from our ancestral home
Like worms from the earth
Dug by some naive babe
And cast aside to be forgotten

Some burrowed back into the disturbed ground
Rejoined their kin
For they liked their home
Appreciated the company

Others were not so easily silenced
Distressed
Oppressed

From among the fallen
One of us led
Built a new haven
Sanctuary from the cold

Everything seemed so shiny
So new
Early adopters struggled
To find their identity

In time a few of the old ones
Came seeking
Searching for different things
Many found what they sought
Still others returned to the fold
As the novelty wore thin

Now

We remain
Persevering
Flourishing
Settling

We are sated once again

Have I said thanks for the forums recently?

Bad goth poetry about web boards. What a terribly strange idea.
Actually, I'd think it was really cool if I saw Jesus in my icecream too. A tyrannosaur in an F14 would be even cooler.

i don't know how i missed this one before. i think it's the best poem about web forum drama i've ever read.
In fairness, we've been building 'ground zeros' near Iraqi mosques since March 2003.

Hey, I've put some better stuff here before. It's not much but then again I'm not a very creative guy.

Best first post ever.
I don't think I'm alone when I say I'd like to see more and more planets fall under the ruthless domination of our solar system.
