I don't know, nothing I've seen in any of the trailers makes me feel like it's a movie I'd enjoy. I have no idea why, but I still have zero interest in seeing it. Maybe I'll catch it on HBO and kick myself later for not having seen it in the theater. The one movie I'm really excited about, however, is Shaun of the Dead.

Shaun of the Dead is really good. It's a romantic comedy with zombies. How can that formula go wrong?

So my university managed to set up this conference of black poets and literature greats. I think the count is 32 poets including 6 nobel laureates, along with a bunch of professors and authors. Anyway, what I've seen of it so far, a poetry reading, was amazing, and it's a great way to expand my literary horizons beyond dead white guys. The problem is that I leave early tomorrow as soon as classes end, and I'll be missing the bulk of the event, including the laureate's circle group. This sucks.

If it's not based on a movie or a videogame, I don't give a fuck.

People write poems based on movies and videogames?

There once was a girl on SR-388
Without her armour on damn she looked great
Wearing Chozo armour and a blaster
There isn't anything that'll get past her
Unless your name is Rob
At which point she will make you sob

Hoo-wah. Skimming posts and not getting on for a night makes me miss shit.

Anyway, my only exposures to Carey come through Tool and Gwar. Never really got that deeply into Gwar, despite the insistence of some pushy friends; and as much as I love Tool, the one time I've seen them live, I wasn't impressed. It may have just been an off night.

Chris Kirkwood is the longtime frontman and pretty much the entire creative talent for the Meat Puppets. Their first album (Some say it's self-titled, some call it I, or 1) was pretty balls-out hardcore punk

Don't forget the massive amounts of suck that dripped off of that album. Flung far and wide.

I have a hard time saying that objectively, because I really don't like hardcore punk.
